Paula Bollinger, Facility Director
Paula has over 25 years experience riding and handling horses, including more than a decade of barn management.

At Sunset Hill, Paula is fulfilling her dream of working in the equine industry. She serves as client liaison at Sunset Hill and is responsible for overseeing the care of client horses and tenants. Her reputation is based in personal, individualized care for each and every horse, taking care of them as it they were her own.

Paula is a graduate of the University of Maryland’s Philip Merrill School of Journalism and has nearly two decades business and communications experience. Her corporate work background has proven invaluable in the management of our farm.

Steve Truppner, Maintenance Supervisor
Steve comes with over 15 years mechanical experience, mainly in the automotive and electrical sectors. He worked part-time for several years at Sunset caring for our fields and plowing us out in the harsh winters. 

As Maintenance Supervisor, Steve does a bit of everything on the farm. He is a jack of all trades, taking care of our fields, fencing, arenas, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and the mechanical maintenance of all of our equipment. He is invaluable!

Heather Pettit, Field Boarding Coordinator
Heather started to ride at the age of five and has been around horses her entire life.

Her diverse horse care experience includes a background in breeding barn management, natural horsemanship, and equine rescue, with riding experience ranging from hunter/jumpers to reining. Heather recently worked with Days End Horse Rescue by fostering, training, and placing Peter Pan, a terrific trail horse.

Heather is loved by all clients for her support and quiet, gentle care, and attention to detail.

In addition to being invaluable to Sunset, Heather plans for a career in equine “match-making”.

Tara Washington, Weekend Assistant
Tara is a wonderful and detail-oriented staff member. Her patience, positive attitude, and work ethic make her invaluable. Tara manages both weekend morning shifts as well as assisting during the week. She recently purchased her first horse, Brady Quinn, a 7-year-old AmericanTB.
